In the past, signing up to run 3-4 games has entitled you to free registration for the con. I'm thinking of running Under my Skin, Flowers for Mara, and help do a playtest for Eppy's game This Child (astronauts stranded on Mars, one of whom is pregnant). And I'm open to help run other games, like the new jeep Ghost Story.
Michael Miller has written up the official information about registering for Dreamation. They are asking people to run smaller games multiple times (3-4 players - 3 or more times, 5 or so players - at least twice). But they are also encouraging playtests, which will be in a separate track.
I got the green light from my wife to attend. I really want to playtest Prehistoric Ties, but I don't have confidence to put it in the playtesting track. Mainly because I've barely playtested it myself at this point.
I would be confident if it didn't fall apart when rubber hit the pavement. Are you thinkng something online?
I would love to play A Moment on the Subway as well, but it's a little short for a full slot, so maybe outside of an official slot? I have ideas about releasing it on a postcard.
Something online would be cool! Let's be in touch by email. (emilycare at gmail)
And I sort of wish we could do something like have a 4 hour slot where folks could come to choose from an assortment of short games. Maybe play more than one.
The idea of putting it on a postcard is delightful. :)
Thanks for the fun times at Dreamation. I was serious about trying to keep this forum alive. I'll probably post thoughts about the Prehistoric Ties playtest once I've digested my notes.
That was fun game. I'm glad we got to play, Dave, and I look forward to seeing your reflections and want to share my thoughts too.
Dreamation was an intense and great time. I went from walking in and having a fear that *none* of my games would go off, due to low pre-con signup, to having all three happen, having some great play, learning things about refining other games, and getting great feedback on the new game Julia & I had just written. I'll also post development and play notes here soon.
Also, there may be some changes here soon. Stay tuned.
